Everyone Around the Horn

Purpose:

• Works each player at all infield positions in the quickest time.

Equipment:

• Balls, Players, Infield

Drill:

• Start with a player playing 1st, a player playing 2nd, and the rest in foul territory at 3rd base.
• The first in line plays 3rd and fields 2 grounders.
• The first one is thrown to 1st and the next is thrown to 2nd for the players at 2nd to complete a double play.
• The player from 3rd moves to shortstop and repeats the 2 plays.
• Then the player who started at 3rd moves to 2nd, the player from 2nd takes over 1st, and the player from 1st goes to the back of the line at 3rd.
• Rotate through until all players have gone through each position

Result:

• Fielders work at each infield position..
• Players gain confidence for game situations.
• All players are involved
