Tee Hitting
Purpose:
- Develop a fluid and flat swing plane through the ball while properly shifting the weight and maintaining good balance.
Equipment:
Drill:
- The hitter should assume their stance and place a 70% effort on the swing speed.
- The object is to make good solid contact with the ball.
- Hands should be inside the ball and the hands should be slightly in front of the belly button.
- When finishing, the belly button should be pointing to the pitcher or think of it as a 90 degree turn from the starting position.
- The weight should be shifted to the plant foot and the back foot should be pivoted and aligned with the belly button.
- This is the best place to grove a swing and develop proper fundamentals.
Result:
- The hitter should be hitting line drives into the net of fence consistently.
- The front foot should be pointing in the genera direction of the pitcher.
- Head should be down and eyes focused on the contact point.
- The chin should travel shoulder to shoulder from start to finish.
